Maya is a German-based Samoyed owned by a Chinese woman named Lingli Ye (often called “Karen” online). The owner is ethnically Chinese, and Maya's videos sometimes go viral on Chinese social platforms like Bilibili or Weibo. Maya is also very popular with Chinese-speaking audiences, leading to some confusion about her origin.
